This strawberry yogurt bark is the perfect creamy sweet treat. It is naturally colored and sweetened with freeze-dried strawberries and is perfect for breakfast or a snack!
Frozen yogurt bark is one of my favorite ways to serve yogurt to my boys. It is a mess-free way of serving yogurt and can be topped with nutritious toppings for a healthy snack! I love making a classic vanilla yogurt bark, but adding powdered freeze-dried strawberries into the mixture adds a fun color and more flavor to the bark that your little ones will be sure to love!

What You’ll Need
Here is what you’ll need to make this strawberry yogurt bark:
- Greek Yogurt: Naturally thick and great to help the bark hold its shape. I recommend using full-fat whole milk Greek yogurt for the best creamy texture and taste.
- Freeze Dried Strawberries: Crushed into a powder and stirred into the yogurt for added color and sweetness.
- Fresh Fruits: I love to use all types of fruit for this bark. A combo of berries and kiwi add a nice sweet and tart taste!
- Maple Syrup: For added sweetness to the bark. The maple syrup may be omitted, but I would suggest adding in more powdered freeze-dried fruits for added natural sweetness.
- Ground Cinnamon: For added flavor to the bark.
- Granola: For an added crunch!
See the recipe card below for full information on ingredients and quantities.
Ingredient Substitutions & Additions
- Greek yogurt: You may substitute the Greek yogurt with a dairy-free alternative, like coconut yogurt. Be mindful that coconut yogurt is not as thick, but it still hardens and freezes well.
- Fresh Fruits: Feel free to use any fresh fruits you have on hand!
- Maple Syrup: The maple syrup adds sweetness to the bark and helps balance the tartness of the yogurt. If you prefer a natural sweetener, you may replace it with 2 additional tablespoons of powdered freeze-dried fruits (freeze-dried fruits crushed or blended into a powder).
Step By Step Instructions
STEP 1: Place the freeze-dried strawberries in a ziploc bag and crush them into a powder consistency using a cup or rolling pin. You can also crush them in a blender if you prefer a more fine consistency that blends better into the yogurt (Image 1).
STEP 2: In a bowl, stir together the yogurt, powdered freeze-dried strawberries, maple syrup, and ground cinnamon (Images 1 & 2). Once combined, spread out onto a parchment paper-lined baking pan into a rectangular shape (Image 3).
STEP 3: Thinly slice your fruits and spread them evenly on top of the yogurt. Sprinkle all over with granola, sprinkles, and any of your favorite toppings (Image 4).
STEP 4: Place the pan in the freezer for 2 hours and break them into small bark pieces. Transfer the pieces to a freezer-safe ziploc bag or container to store!
Topping Ideas For Yogurt Bark
I topped my yogurt bark with strawberries, kiwi, granola, and sprinkles but you can completely customize it to your taste! Here are some other topping ideas for the bark:
- Chopped berries
- Chopped mangoes/pineapple
- Crushed granola
- Ground nuts
- Shredded coconut
- Drizzled peanut butter
- Crushed freeze-dried fruits
- Flax seeds/Chia seeds (for added nutrition!)
Storage Instructions
Once the yogurt bark hardens for at least 2 hours, cut them into pieces and transfer them to a freezer-safe Ziploc bag or container. Store them in the freezer for up to 1 month. Make sure to transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container as soon as they harden to prevent freezer burn.
Tips For Success
- This is a great snack for teething babies and soothing little gums!
- Prior to serving, let the yogurt bark sit at room temperature for 2-3 minutes so that it can slightly soften and not be too hard for your little one to take bites from.
- Do not leave the yogurt bark at room temperature for too long because it will melt. Store the bark pieces in the freezer.
- Make sure to transfer the yogurt bark to a freezer-safe ziploc bag or container as soon as it fully hardens. This will help prevent it from getting freezer burnt.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of maple syrup used to your liking. You can add in more or less maple syrup as needed. Taste the yogurt after mixing it with the maple syrup and adjust the sweetness level as needed.
- If you choose to add granola, make sure to avoid granola that contains honey for babies under the age of 1.
Recipe FAQs
Yes! Dairy-free yogurts work well here as well. Try to opt for a thicker dairy-free yogurt brand to prevent the bark from getting an icy texture.
Let the bark thaw at room temperature for a few minutes to allow it to slightly soften. You will want it to be slightly softened so that it isn’t too rock-hard for your little one to take bites from, but still firm enough so that it doesn’t fall apart.
Yes! You can use freeze-dried fruits similarly to make these baby yogurt melts.
