This air fryer asparagus is soft with a slight crunch and comes out perfect every time!
Asparagus is such a nutrient dense vegetable that I love serving to the boys. Pop them into the air fryer to cook and a dinner side is done in no time!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Here is what you’ll need to make this air fryer asparagus:
- Asparagus
- Oil
- Garlic Powder
- Black Pepper
PROCESS
- Wash the asparagus and pat dry. Chop off the tough ends.
- Coat the asparagus with oil, garlic powder and black pepper.
- Place the asparagus in the air fryer basket. Try to make sure that they do not overlap too much.
- Cook the asparagus at 400 degrees F for 7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. If you would like softer, more tender asparagus, add an extra 1-2 minutes.
SUBSTITUTIONS
- Fresh asparagus: The fresh asparagus may be replaced with frozen. To use frozen asparagus beans, air fry for 8-10 minutes. Check the green beans at 8 minutes and adjust the cook time as needed.
- Oil: I used olive oil in this recipe, but you may also use coconut oil or avocado oil.
RECIPE NOTES
- Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. If the basket is too full, the asparagus will not cook evenly. I love this size and functionality of this ninja air fryer!
- I usually serve my little ones the tips of the asparagus since those are generally softer and easier to break down.
- After removing baby’s portion, toss the asparagus with a little salt to taste for everyone else!
