Salmon is so nutritious and can be introduced as soon as your little one is ready for solids, at around 6 months of age. I love air frying it for a quick meal option that is tender and soft to eat!

Benefits Of Salmon For Babies

  • High in iron and vitamins.
  • Rich in omega-3 fatty acids which are critical for baby’s brain development.
  • Great source of protein.
  • Flaky, soft texture makes it easy for baby to eat.

What You’ll Need

Here is what you’ll need to make this air fryer salmon:

Ingredients to make air fryer salmon. See recipe card for detailed ingredient quantities.
  • Salmon: I used a boneless filet. Always press down on the salmon to check for bones, even on filets labeled boneless!
  • Oil: To coat the salmon before adding the seasonings.
  • Paprika
  • Garlic Powder
  • Black Pepper

Step By Step Instructions

  1. Coat the salmon in oil, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
  2. Place the salmon in the air fryer basket. If your salmon has skin, place the salmon skin side down.
  3. Cook the salmon at 390 degrees F for 7-8 minutes.
  4. Check the salmon for doneness with a fork. Add another 1-2 minutes depending on the thickness of your salmon filet.

Ingredient Substitutions

  • Oil: I used olive oil in this recipe, but you may also use coconut oil or avocado oil.
  • Seasonings: Paprika, black pepper, and garlic are my favorite combination of seasonings for my baby. Feel free to add any other seasonings to taste!

Recipe Notes

  • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. I usually place no more than 2 fillets in the basket at a time, but this may vary depending on the size of your air fryer basket. I love the size and functionality of this ninja air fryer!
  • For my baby, I season filet portions without salt and love to use a Cajun seasoning blend for everyone else.
  • Beware of potential bones in salmon! Always run your fingers through the fish and pick out any bones. I always buy boneless filets, but still run my fingers through it to ensure that there are no bones.
