Asparagus is such a nutrient dense vegetable that I love serving to the boys. Pop them into the air fryer to cook and a dinner side is done in no time!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Here is what you’ll need to make this air fryer asparagus:

Ingredients to make air fryer asparagus. See recipe card for detailed ingredient quantities.
  • Asparagus
  • Oil
  • Garlic Powder
  • Black Pepper

PROCESS

  1. Wash the asparagus and pat dry. Chop off the tough ends.
  2. Coat the asparagus with oil, garlic powder and black pepper.
  3. Place the asparagus in the air fryer basket. Try to make sure that they do not overlap too much.
  4. Cook the asparagus at 400 degrees F for 7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. If you would like softer, more tender asparagus, add an extra 1-2 minutes.

SUBSTITUTIONS

  • Fresh asparagus: The fresh asparagus may be replaced with frozen. To use frozen asparagus beans, air fry for 8-10 minutes. Check the green beans at 8 minutes and adjust the cook time as needed.
  • Oil: I used olive oil in this recipe, but you may also use coconut oil or avocado oil.

RECIPE NOTES

  • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. If the basket is too full, the asparagus will not cook evenly. I love this size and functionality of this ninja air fryer!
  • I usually serve my little ones the tips of the asparagus since those are generally softer and easier to break down.
  • After removing baby’s portion, toss the asparagus with a little salt to taste for everyone else!
