If you’re a bagel lover, these mini bagel bites are calling your name. Bagels smothered in cream cheese is a classic and with these bites, you get that savory combo all in one. The two-ingredient dough makes the perfect base for these bagels and can also be used in things like homemade mini pizzas and cinnamon sugar pretzel bites! The possibilities are endless and if you’ve been on the hunt for more breakfast options, these everything bagel bites are definitely one to add to the list!

What You’ll Need

Here is what you’ll need to make these everything bagel bites:

Ingredients to make everything bagel bites.
  • Self Rising Flour: The main base of the dough. If you don’t have self-rising flour, you can make your own by combining all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt (see below)!
  • Greek Yogurt: Makes the dough soft and pliable, making it easy to roll out.
  • Cream Cheese: To stuff the bagel bites with for a smooth and creamy filling. Feel free to omit it or swap it with your favorite filling.
  • Egg: Brushed on top of the bagel bites for a golden shiny color and slightly firm crust.
  • Everything Bagel Seasoning: The star ingredient for that signature bagel taste. You can omit this for plain bagel bites but this seasoning blend adds the perfect amount of flavor to these bites.

See the recipe card below for full information on ingredients and quantities.

Ingredient Substitutions

  • Self-Rising Flour: No self-rising flour? No problem! You can make your own by mixing together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Once that is mixed together, measure out 3/4 cup to use in this recipe. To make these bagel bites gluten-free, use gluten-free all-purpose flour in a 1:1 ratio.
  • Egg: To make these bagel bites egg-free, swap it out with either 2 tablespoons of melted butter or 2 tablespoons of milk.
  • Greek Yogurt: I used full-fat milk Greek yogurt, but you can swap this out with dairy-free Greek-style yogurt. If using dairy-free, try to use yogurt that is thick in texture and not thin which will be very difficult to work with.

Recipe Variations

  • Plain Bagel Bites: Omit the everything bagel seasoning and sprinkle some flaky salt on top of the bites.
  • Cheesy Garlic Bagel Bites: Add 2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder to the dough when mixing. Coat the bagels with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
  • Bacon Bagel Bites: Add bits of cooked bacon in with the cream cheese filling when rolling the dough into balls. The combo of bacon with cream cheese is unmatched!
  • Cinnamon Raisin Bagel Bites: Mix 2 to 3 tablespoons of raisins and 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon into the dough mixture.
  • Cinnamon Sugar Bagel Bites: Swap the cream cheese for something sweet like mashed berries or jam. Once air-fried, brush some melted butter on the bagel bites and coat in a cinnamon-sugar mixture for a sweet and crunchy crust!

Step By Step Instructions

Steps to make everything bagel bites.

STEP 1: Add the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt to a bowl and mix it with a fork until it becomes crumbly in texture. Use your hands to knead the dough for a few minutes until it comes together into a ball. It will seem very dry at initially, but continue mixing and kneading with your hands until the flour is incorporated (Images 1 & 2).

STEP 2: Sprinkle a little flour on a surface and place the dough ball on top (Image 3). Use a knife to split the dough ball into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small ball (Image 4).

STEP 3: Split the cream cheese into 8 equal pieces and gently shape each piece into a small cube to make it easier to fit inside of the bagel bite. Each piece will be about 1/2 tablespoon of cream cheese (Image 5).

STEP 4: Take one of the dough balls and press and flatten it into a small circle (Image 6). Place one of the cream cheese cubes in the center of the flattened circle and pinch up the sides of the dough around the cheese cube to seal it closed (Image 7). Roll it out between your hands to shape it back into a ball so that the cream cheese is fully secured and sealed inside (Image 8). Repeat for the remaining bites.

STEP 5: Place each stuffed bite in a small bowl with everything bagel seasoning to move it around to coat it in the seasoning mixture. Once coated, use your hands to roll the ball and gently press the seasoning into the dough so that it sticks to the dough (Image 9).

STEP 6: In a small bowl whisk together the egg with 1 tablespoon of water to form the egg wash. Brush all sides of the bagel bites with the egg wash and place them in an air fryer basket with some space between each bite (Image 10). Air fry the bites at 375 degrees F for 10 minutes or until golden. Let them cool completely before serving.

If you love bagels and you love bantem bagels, then you will love these!! I love that itโ€™s only a few ingredients and so easy to make. I tried it with both the homemade rising flour and store bought self rising flour and definitely prefer the store bought one better. Making a huge batch to freeze! Thank you for this recipe!

I just finished making these and they were SO GOOD! I couldn’t believe how easy quick they were, too. A delight all around! I can’t wait for my 18 month old to try them tomorrow morning! If you’re thinking about making this recipe, DO IT. My husband was a fan, too!

I have been stuck in a recipe rut, and my son has also been a bit pickier these days (which we have not had to deal with since he started solids a year ago!). My friend sent me a link to this site, and after this recipe, I am so excited to dive in and finally bring back a sense of joy to prepping food that we can eat TOGETHER! Even though we have done BLW with him, I have fallen into the trap of making him separate meals, but I am looking forward to trying more of FTB recipes that we can all enjoy!

These are great, do you have any recommendations for storing them/reheating?

I would love to make a bunch at once and freeze them, have you tried that at all?
