What You’ll Need
Here is what you’ll need to make this cottage cheese pizza:

- Cottage Cheese: The base of your crust. I love using whole milk cottage cheese with 4% milkfat.
- Egg: Helps bind the crust base together.
- All-Purpose Flour: A small amount of flour is added to help give the crust some structure.
- Mozzarella Cheese: For that classic melty pizza flavor.
- Pizza Sauce: Use your favorite jarred pizza sauce or homemade.
- Seasonings: Italian seasoning and garlic powder for classic pizza flavor.
- Toppings: From pepperoni to veggies, customize as you like!
See the recipe card below for full information on ingredients and quantities.
Recipe Substitutions & Additions
- All-Purpose Flour: Swap with whole wheat flour for extra fiber, or use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend to keep it gluten-free. Avoid almond or coconut flour, as the crust won’t hold together well.
- Egg: To make it egg-free, use 1/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce in place of the 2 eggs.
- Mozzarella: Dairy-free shredded cheese works well.
Step-By-Step Instructions

STEP 1: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Add the cottage cheese and eggs to a high-powered blender and blend until smooth.
STEP 2: Pour the blended cottage cheese mixture into a medium bowl along with the flour, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder, and mix until combined (Images 1 & 2).
STEP 3: Line a 9 by 13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the mixture evenly into a rectangle on the pan (Images 3 & 4).

STEP 4: Bake the crust for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden and dry to the touch (Image 5).
STEP 5: Spread the pizza sauce over the crust, leaving a border around the edges (Image 6). Sprinkle with mozzarella and toppings of choice (Images 7 & 8).
STEP 6: Return the pizza to the oven and bake for another 8–10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden. Top with grated parmesan cheese and a drizzle of hot honey, if desired. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Storage Instructions
Once cooled, store slices in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–4 days. Freeze individual slices in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. To reheat, bake at 350°F for 8–10 minutes or until warmed through.

Tips For Success
- Don’t skip the parchment paper! Parchment paper lined on the baking sheet will prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Try your best to smooth out the cottage cheese mixture into an even layer so that it bakes through evenly in the oven. The crust may puff up a bit when it bakes, and this is normal.
- If you prefer to skip the blending step, you can do so, just note that the crust texture will not be as smooth.

Recipe FAQs
Yes! Low-fat cottage cheese works fine and keeps the pizza lighter, but full-fat cottage cheese will make the crust slightly creamier and richer in flavor.
For an egg-free version, swap the eggs with 1/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce.
Yes! Divide the crust mixture into smaller rounds for mini kid-sized portions. Mini pizzas bake faster, and you can let your little ones customize their own personal pies.

do you need yeast for this recipe?
Hi! No yeast is needed for this recipe😊
Can the crust be frozen on it’s own??
Hi Melyssa! Yes, you can freeze the crust on its own in an airtight container or bag after baking! When you’re ready to bake with toppings you can use it straight from frozen. You can also portion it out into smaller crusts that might be a little easier to freeze😊
This was so easy and delicious. An easy way to sneak in extra protein into a food my kids will happily eat.
I’m so glad to hear that, Shreena!😊
