What You’ll Need
Here is what you’ll need to make these air fryer tortilla pizzas:
- Tortillas: Fajita-sized flour tortillas work great for these tortillas a storebought option, but I love using these simple-to-make homemade sweet potato tortillas as the crust. They add a subtle sweetness to the pizzas and are a fun way to incorporate some veggies!
- Mozzarella: For that classic cheesy taste. Feel free to swap it out with your favorite shredded cheese. I love grating the cheese myself because it melts so much better when cooked for a delicious, gooey pizza pie.
- Pizza Sauce: My favorite sauce to use is this 365 brand, but any pizza brand will work!
- Toppings: I love to use tomatoes and chopped spinach as toppings but feel free to use any of your favorites! Pepperoni is a classic and leftover chicken, basil, riced broccoli, corn, and red onions are great options as well.

Recipe Substitutions & Additions
- Tortillas: You can make your own sweet potato tortillas, use storebought flour tortillas, or swap the tortillas with naan dippers for these easy-to-make air fryer naan pizzas.
- Pizza Sauce: You can substitute the pizza sauce with marinara sauce. I don’t recommend using something like pure tomato paste because it is very concentrated with little flavor.
- Mozzarella: For a dairy-free version, replace the mozzarella cheese with dairy-free shreds.
Step By Step Instructions
STEP 1: Place one tortilla directly on the air fryer basket (or air-fryer-safe parchment liner) (Image 1).
STEP 2: Spoon 1 to 1½ tablespoons of pizza sauce evenly on top of the tortilla leaving off a little space around the outer edges (Image 2).
STEP 3: Sprinkle ¼ cup of grated mozzarella cheese on top of the pizza sauce (Image 3). Top with toppings of choice (Images 4 & 5).
STEP 4: Air fry the tortilla pizza at 400 degrees F for 3 to 4 minutes, or until the cheesy is lightly brown and bubbly (Image 6). Repeat for the remaining tortilla. Let the pizza cool completely before serving.
Storage Instructions
These tortilla pizzas are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them in the air fryer at the air fryer setting for a minute or until warmed through.
Tips For Success
- Do not place too many toppings on top of the pizza so that they stay in place when cooking. The tortilla pizza crust is also very thin, so be mindful of toppings so that the crust isn’t too soggy.
- For a crispier crust, lightly brush the edges of the tortilla with olive oil.
- Be sure. to check on the pizza at the 3-minute mark for doneness. Since tortillas are so thin and precooked, this pizza cooks fairly quickly. We don’t want that cheesy goodness to burn!
Recipe FAQs
If your pizza turns out soggy instead of crisp, this means that too much pizza sauce or toppings were used. Try to go light on the pizza sauce and toppings since the crust is so thin to ensure it comes out nice and crispy.
This can happen due to the circulation in the air fryer. Try sprinkling a little extra cheese on top of your toppings to keep the toppings in place when cooking.
These tortilla pizzas can be served with a side salad, or roasted veggies like broccoli, asparagus, or corn!

Excited to try this! Question! Do you grate the cheese yourself or can you find it in a container/tub at the stroelike grated parmesan? If I have shredded mozzarella can I use that?
Hi Kassidy! I like to use freshly grated mozzarella, so if you have pre-shredded mozzarella that would be perfect to use!
