Butcher Box Chicken

I used organic chicken wings from my Butcher Box this month to make these chicken wings.

If you haven’t heard of Butcher Box, they are a service that ships high-quality meats right to your doorstep. They are committed to providing premium quality meats with certified organic chicken and 100% grass-fed beef. Organic chicken and 100% grass-fed beef can get expensive, but Butcher Box is able to provide them at a great price.

Their meat arrives frozen for freshness and prepackaged into portions for easy storing. And did I mention free shipping?!!! My family eats meat pretty often and I feel like we spend so much money on meat. I don’t mind paying for good quality meat, but prices on good quality meat can get SO high. When I looked into Butcher Box, I found their price per serving to be unbeatable.

Butcher Box is a great service with no required commitment, so you can cancel anytime. I love the convenience they offer and what they stand behind.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Here is what you’ll need to make these air fryer BBQ chicken wings:

Ingredients to make chicken wings. Specifics provided in recipe card.
  • Chicken Wings: I used chicken wings that were already cut up into drumettes and wingettes.
  • Oil: To coat the chicken.
  • Seasoning Blend: I love using tony’s seasoning blend for these wings. It is an all in one seasoning blend packed with great flavor. You can use any all-in-one seasoning blend or make your own! For a salt-free seasoning option for a baby, mix together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • *Optional – Barbeque sauce to coat.

PROCESS

  1. Coat the chicken wings in oil and seasonings. Make sure each piece is fully coated.
  2. Place the chicken wings in the air fryer basket. Make sure not to overcrowd the basket and that the pieces do not overlap to ensure even cooking.
  3. Air fry the chicken at 360 degrees F for 12 minutes.
  4. Open the air fryer basket and flip each piece of chicken over. Air fry for another 12 minutes.
  5. Open the air fryer basket and give it a shake. Increase the temperature to 400 degrees F and air fry the chicken for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Transfer the chicken to a bowl and coat in a sauce if desired.

SUBSTITUTIONS

  • Oil: I used extra light tasting olive oil in this recipe, but you may also use coconut oil or avocado oil.
  • Seasonings: Paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder is my favorite combination of seasonings for my little one. Feel free to add in any other seasonings to taste!

RECIPE NOTES

  • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. Try to make sure that the chicken pieces are not overlapping so that they cook evenly. You may have to cook the wings in batches depending on the size of your air fryer. I love the size and functionality of this ninja air fryer!
  • I love using tony’s seasoning blend for these wings. It is an all-in-one seasoning spice, packed with flavor. You can use any all-in-one seasoning blend or make your own!
  • I prefer sweeter barbeque sauces for my family, but also like to use the primal kitchen barbeque sauce as a sugar-free option.
  • Make sure to debone the wings before serving them to your baby.
