Chicken Waffle Bites
These chicken and waffle bites are crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and perfectly sweet and savory in every bite. Made with waffle batter wrapped around crispy chicken nuggets, they’re the ultimate fun twist on classic chicken and waffles, perfect for breakfast, lunch, or even an easy dinner!

Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ⅛ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
- 3 tbsp butter melted and cooled slightly
- 1 egg
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 20 chicken nuggets
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and egg until completely smooth (this prevents the egg from cooking in the butter and ensures a smooth, evenly combined batter). Then add the milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract, mixing well until combined.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
Let the batter rest for 5 minutes as you preheat the waffle maker. Dip the chicken nuggets one at a time into the batter to fully coat.
Place each coated nugget onto the waffle iron. Close and gently press down slightly to flatten.
Cook for about 4 minutes, or until golden and cooked through. Repeat with the remaining nuggets.
- Make sure the waffle maker is fully preheated before adding the nuggets for the best texture.
- I used a Dash mini waffle maker, but if you prefer to make more waffles at a time, you can use a full-sized waffle maker and cook 1 waffle bite in each corner (4 bites at a time) or use a multi-mini waffle maker to cook 4 at a time.
- Lightly press the waffle maker to help the batter spread evenly around the nugget.
- If you prefer a crispier waffle, cook for an extra 1-2 minutes.
